Oh boy...I must be getting old(er)..

So, I'm driving to work listening to the radio and I have it on the "All Christmas" channel..

Um, yes, I have had it on since right after Halloween..but I love love love Christmas music..

or what used to be called Christmas music.

Not every song that has the word 'Christmas' in it is a Christmas song.

"Last Christmas I gave you my heart the very next day you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears, I gave it to someone special.." {repeat several times..like you're trying to memorize the lyrics..}

This has nothing to do with Christmas except maybe showing their complete lack of judgment during the holiday season..

And why the heck to some of the big names think they need to re-invent the classics? I mean Alicia Keyes is pretty & talented, but she not only messed up The Little Drummer Boy by singing it in HER style...

..she changed it to The Little Drummer GIRL..

What's up with that?? Shikira trying to be all suggestive singing Santa Baby?? I like Betty Boop's version better...

And 'riffs' may very well be cool on American Idol, but not so much in Christmas carols..

Miriah Carey - bless her heart - really doesn't need to change the arrangement to Silent Night if you ask me..

Keep the lyrics and the arrangements in tact- they are called classics for a reason..

What's wrong with you people??

Bah Humbuger...

Yeeeeah...this is just creepy....

Yes, I hear you, on how so many singers just havvvvvvvvvvve to mess with Christmas songs. Ugh! Why? Go put your stamp on other stuff. Leave traditional music alone.

So there!

And I so love Maxine! She fits as our Inner Grump, all year long! -evil grins-

How funny! I was listening to our local all Christmas songs station yesterday and I have to say if I hear Alvin and the Chipmunks singing one more time...

I prefer the traditional Christmas music as well, and just turn off the others when I don't like what I hear.

You positively slay me! I'm reading this before anyone is awake and you made me laugh right out loud!
I probably woke the baby.

I just love you. Oh, and by the way--a site called "Danesonline" loved the puppy story--because it had a great Dane in it. They've linked to it on my site. So cool, huh?

Love when I see a new post from you. This is so true, so funny and just entertaining. I agree, don't change up the song. We were listening while playing cards on Thanksgiving and we all looked at each other and said "this isn't a Christmas song"! I must admit that I do look forward to the "last Christmas I gave you my heart" song! It has grown on me....

You are so right about no changing the classics! They should be sung the way they are written, and not tweaked or fiddled with or... or... anything! They are perfect the way they are.

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
