B-E-D-T-I-M-E

This is Ella Ireland Lopez.

Ella is four years old.

This is her Mommy, Brandi.

Brandi is, well, considerably older than Ella.

Ella is a very smart four year old. Ella is learning how to spell words...cat, dog, today...(?)....

Brandi , while being much older than Ella....................... is no match for Ella....

Thursday evening conversation:

Ella: I'm hungry.

Brandi: Well, it's almost bedtime.

Ella: But I'm hungry, Momma.

Brandi: OK , let's see what we can find..here's a kid's frozen dinner! Hmmmm, Mac & Cheese!

Ella: And a brownie!!!!!!!

Brandi: No, it's almost bedtime and you shouldn't have anything sweet. We'll save it for tomorrow, OK?

Ella: NO, I want it now.

Brandi: NO, let's save it for tomorrow, 'K?

Ella:(being determined) But I want to eat it now...

Brandi: (being frustrated) No, it says right here on the box, "Do not eat brownie right before bedtime..."

Ella: Where does it say "bedtime"? I wanna see ...

Brandi: Uh....It says it right here, on the box...

Ella: Show me...

Brandi: Ella, it says it on the box...

Ella: Momma, I want to see 'bedtime'...

Brandi: (feeling guilty for lying, frustrated that she is "caught", and a little intimidated by a .....FOUR YEAR OLD)....

What's that Johnny? You need to talk to me in the living room?...Daddy needs to see Momma right now Ella..

Ella: But Momma, I don't see 'bedtime'...

Brandi: Johnny, a little help here?...

Johnny: Ella, eat your Mac & Cheese...

Ella: OK, but I still don;t see 'bedtime' on this box...

Me: Oh Brandi, remember when I told you that someday, someday you'd regret all the bad behavior you showed me??

Say hello to my little friend.....................Ella Ireland.....

I love you Ella! Keep your Mommy on her toes!

Ahhhh! I see the Irish place the same curse/blessing on their children as the Welch, Germans and Italians! The old "I hope when you grow up you have one JUST like you!". I have bestowed that blessing upon my son on numerous occasions - something I'm sure my future d-i-l will thank me for one day.

Thanks for keeping me smiling!

Blessings!
