OK, so maybe the show part..
Well, probably the tell, too.
Didja ever notice I talk a lot? Yeah...it's been a issue for a long time. So much so that when I'm quiet, everybody thinks there's something wrong..
Which there's usually not. I just get tired of hearing me so much and it's hard for me to keep up with me..
So then I don't pay attention to what I'm saying..and has that gotten me into trouble!
I have been wanting to try one of these art-quilts-canvas thingys for a while - been getting stuff ready, been buying stuff , collecting stuff, coffee-staining stuff..
I love the look of quilts - love love love quilts. And I am amazed at the talent of real quilt makers.
I however, am not a quilter. Can't sew. Don't do math. Have the attention span of a gnat.
So this is the closest thing for me.
This is my Mother - around 1917 I figure (she was born in 1915 and this looks to be her at about 2-ish)
I still have to work on the hanger part - I am going to put a slat on the back so it hangs correctly.
I put 4 rusty hearts on - one for each of my brother, my sisters and me..
And a door plate..without a door knob..to nowhere...wonder what that means?? The I added some fringies and some safety pins..
So,. here's the first try..
Next, I'm going to make a smaller one with a Native American theme..
This is just the beginning of the process- laying down the fabrics and looking what to move, change, add..
It's not going to be as big as the background suggests..
I got my inspiration form KC Willis of http://www.lipstickranch.com
I'm going to totally do a whole "western Woman"theme..can't wait!
And I think I'll do a 50's kitchy kitchen one too.
Yea, I do have an addictive personality.
Hope your week-end was fun. We went to a couple of great Estate sales - I'll show more pictures this week.
