As I rapidly approach my..um..the begining of the second half...

..uh....of my life ( I am planning on living to 120.. - just to be clear..) I look for reasons to be happy about this whole "aging" process..

Here are a few that have been sent previously in emails circulating around the inter-web.

Reason to be happy about being old (er)..

{photos do not correlate with the text - I just love old people pictures...I just didn't think I'd be in them..so soon..}

Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

People call at 9 p.m. and ask, "Did I wake you?"

There's nothing left to learn the hard way.

Things you buy now won't wear out.

You can eat dinner at 4:00

You can't remember the last time you laid on the floor to watch television.

You consider coffee one of the most important things in life.

You got cable for the weather channel.

You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it.

You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.

You have an age advantage whenever you need it.

You are not expected to keep up with technology or understand it.

You get travel and entertainment (and restaurant) discounts.

Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

These are not my hands, and they're not your hands, but I think they are the most beautiful hands a person could have..

The babies held, the tears wiped away, the clothes ironed, the meals cooked, the love dispensed in those hands...

Beautiful.

I hope your days are filled with respect for old(er) people..one day, with a little luck and love, we'll all be there.

We complain about aging. But it's better than the alternative. Keep making us laugh. Nobody does it better!
