Happy, Happy and Happy Birthday to ...

..my Sister...

...my Sister-in-Law, the love of Mr.B 2.o 's life...(that's Robert..the other Mr. B..)...

..and, my other Sister-in-Law, my brother's wife...

April is a pretty good month for birthdays :-)

and I get to play with .....Scrabble letters!

Today was the most beautiful spring weather we've had so far..and we took advantage of it.

Braxton & Lulu went to the "beauty parlor" this morning and they look adorable, and while they were having their spa treatment, Mr. B did some yard work and I just putted around the house.

Time to re-arrange some of the photos on the old screen door...

..and of course, hit at least one thrift store, Deseret Industries..

I know it's a little early for Christmas, but at $.50 each, these four wooden plates were too cute to pass up - they will add just that little hint of red in the kitchen actually, yet another "hint of red"...our kitchen already has several "splashes"..

This little home made cutie will hold some cute photos soon..

..and we picked this up for Mom-in-Law. These are her kitchen colors and we always seem to have a hard time finding the "right" butter dish..

Then we had the neighbors over for a cook-out. Here's their youngest with a chicken on his shoulder..

Wha??
Yep, a chicken. A wee baby chicken..a little bigger than a chick, more like a chickenette..

Seems these two little boys are real "chicken charmers".. last year his older brother taught the two they had to do the "Chicken Dance" and to jump on command for grapes!

Fine lookin' birds...uh-huh..

..Oh, by the way, we had hamburgers and salmon...not a chicken in sight..um..at least not near the grill...

Now go out there and have a fun Sunday, OK?? And remember, people don't become vegetarians because they love animals: it's because they hate vegetables...yeah, think about that one..

It must be exciting to be able to play outside again. It is beaut weather here too. Not stinking hot and humid just nice and warm about 80F. Its a bit cool in the mornings but good for walking.
I'm wondering where you store all your treasures from thrift shops.
Would you like to send Mr B over here to to some yard work. BB cooks but won't garden unless I grovel and plead for help.

Somehow you can go into Deseret and/or any other thrift shop and buy all the stuff that I see as junk, bring it home and put a life to it and make me wish I'd have found it and bought it. I cannot see beyond junk in those stores. And I KNOW treasures abide in there if I just had the imagination. Ahhh...woe is me.

Yes, it's definitely true in my case. Ha!

Great job of wishing everyone a happy birthday. I have my Scrabble letters out, too, and am posting a pic for my sidebar as soon as the sun gets a bit higher in the sky.

How fun to have a barbecue with the neighbors...any chance you can take a video of those darling boys teaching their chickenettes amazing things?

Happy birthday to all your family members!

Love spring and being able to be outdoors without having to wear so many clothes. I have a love/hate relationship with yard work but since I like a nice looking yard, it has to be done. Then I can sit back and enjoy it and watch the birds busily nesting. Maybe I should say furiously nesting!

Leave the "faith" plate out year round. I love those plates! I love your little chicken-boy neighbors. Sounds like a great time!

I love the photo of this young man and his chicken. It reminds me of my boys when they were that young. We had sheep next door at the neighbors, it was so much fun to watch them grow.

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
