I still can't believe...

....that I have all this stuff. In the box. All the memories. All the history.

Tonight when going through it again, I found more and more interesting and VERY old documents with names of families well known here in Utah......Hatch as in the "Senator"...Jeffs as in the dirt-bag-creepy-polyligimist...

Found another "deed" from 1877 - the oldest so far. Many receipts from a piano bought from a Chicago firm....

..even the language they used, although English, sounds so special..refined...so formal...

...and more stocks and bonds....

Many of these early documents were painstakingly hand-written.

All have a "seal" of a notary of some sort..most are concerning property in Heber City, Utah, some while Utah was still a "territory"..

Heber City is about 45 miles from here - up in the mountains. Beautiful area. Farms, cattle, "regular" people v.s. the "Ski-people" that visit Park City ..

Mr. B suggested I find out if they have a museum in Heber..my heart pulls just a little - I found these - they are mine...

But I know they aren't.... really. It would be a good thing to take them up to someone who can tell me if they would be of interest to the people of Heber City and all who visit.

And, hey, they've got this fantastic little diner up there..maybe we'll have to make a day of it..

Until then, I will enjoy my discovery and maybe even take a few more scans of the loot...hope it won't hurt them..

That is so awesome...years ago my sister and I use to go though old abandoned houses looking for old stuff...Rember whne old bottles was the rage???? I have several old recipe books that people wrote in the margin and and old scrub board that was use by the black lady that lived down the street from my grandmother...also have the old stick she used to push the clothes down when she washed her clothes in the big black pot in the yard....Mr B has a good point abot the "treasures" if they have a museum...if not...double sided document frames will protect them and allow everyone to see you treasures.......
