The flowers of summer...

I am still amazed by the flowers of summer...

Being raised in Arizona, the "flowers" were the blooms on the cactus..or cacti {plural of cactus-ssses}

But one memory that is SOOO strong is the scent of orange blossoms in the spring..intoxicating!

But that's in spring..and I'm talking about summer, remember?

OK, so here are some great summer visitors in the neighborhood...

OK, so that's enough sunshine for you today..now get some rest and we'll talk tomorrow..

Beautiful!

And I'm glad I'm not the only one, who is snapping pics of flowwwwwers. :-)

As to the "why" of your not eating meat and poultry... I understand. Back a few years, when one of our sons was very sick in hospital even, with Salmonella food poisoning, I got to reading probably a lot of the same books you did... On the details of the 'how' of how meat and poultry is "raised" and gets to our table.

Needless to say, I went Vegan for a while too. The shock has to get to anyone.

Then, little by little, I forgot... [Oh isn't that the way of so many good decisions?] -sigh- Perhaps I should get those books out of the library again.

Gentle hugs...

Hi Colleen, I've just caught up with your past several posts. I love the way you write -- so fun. Congrats on doing the 5k. I always loved doing those in the States -- walking, no running for me. I could walk all day long but can't run more than 30 seconds at a time. As for forgetting, I've burnt many a pan. I've left a tub running while I went to vaccum. A sink running while I went to make the bed. It's all those hormones racing around I imagine! :) Hope you are having a great day. Best wishes, Tammy

Orange blossoms, truly the nectar of the Gods...when I first moved to Florida, I couldn't figure out what that heavenly scent was...DUH!!!

Still my most favoritest scent and I hoard it faithfully, cause it's a very expensive...MINE!!!

I miss my cactus garden, it spreads so fast, I promised myself I'd never do that one again unless I lived in the desert...haha!

Beautiful pics Colleen! I'm amazed that such pretty flowers come from a cactus!
I've missed visiting, I really need to get a laptop so I can relax in my living room and catch up on blogs!
To answer your question, yes I just do a background and then try and see object/people/animals in the background :) It's fun and it really pushes the imagination for sure! I showed pictures on my blog around May 14-16 of the process. If I ever got brave enough I'd do a video but...I'm chicken!
Have a great week!

I think the blooming cacti are just beautiful! That always amazes me that something like a cactus could have such lovely blooms. Beautiful photos!
