Summer Sunday

...Ok...I didn't get the paper today so this was supposed to be "Sunday Funnies" - but then we didn't take any funny photos....

... and there was nothing particularly funny about today...

... and we're not just funny-people...

So I guess it's just a Summer Sunday...

I don't know where it came from but I had a burst of energy today and got my jewelry boxes cleaned out, one closet organized, cut the weeks worth of cantaloupe, celery, cucumbers. bagged our lunch-baggies of grapes, Cheerios, and carrots, made Ranch dressing, 2 Pineapple Pecan cakes and pickled cucumber and onions AND did 5 loads of laundry.

Mr. B was as industrious - making a great dinner of chicken-fried steak sandwiches, doing all of the week's shopping, cleaning the construction zone in the back yard, walking the pups, and gardening...

I think we both need to go back to work to rest!

Anyway, I snapped some quick photos I thought you may like to see. Hope you enjoy them!

Morning! Glories..
..(they are such happy flowers in the morning..)

Sweetie's feeder in the grape arbor..

On of the planters Mr. B's working on - he also set the stones..

This is the framework for the little enclosure for the air conditioner and a "shed" of sorts to hold the hoses, sprinklers, etc. Evelyn put down the green grass seeds and Mr. B did the stones..

Here's Sweetie in her nest..no, that's not a Cheeto - it's part of the hook..silly..

Apparently, Sweetie doesn't like me taking a lot of photos...notice her in the right-hand corner??

Here she's making a b-line for my head...

Sun's going down....

Sweetie's on her nest.............

Braxton says "goodnight"..........

..

......Nighty-nite Sweet Lulu-belle....

All is well on Main Street USA

"See" you tomorrow - until then, sleep well and sweet dreams...

I think you did more in one weekend than I've done in a month! Your yard is looking wonderful and inviting...hey, I get to actually SEE it next Saturday...how cool is that?! Love your little hummingbird; she's hanging in there, even with all the 'goings-on' in the yard. Love ya.

Colleen, visiting you is always such a pleasure - you truly keep me in stitches! I'm behind with reading blogs so have been scrolling back many posts and laughing my head off - thanks, I need a really good chuckle after being cooked to a frazzle in this southern heat and humidity today.

Can't believe that little hummer actually sits on the nest with all those lights on! So darling - I've a couple coming to my front porch feeder but have never spied a nest. And your delightful doggies are so cuddly looking after their spa visits!

Hey, are you a Sullivan? Perhaps we're related!!!! My dh is one too (from New Hampshire) and like you, has kissed the Blarney Stone for sure, lol!
Love and hugs - I wish I could visit you in that beautiful part of the country, but until then, keep me laughing, please!

Those are magic photos! I love the shadow one (I wonder who it is?)
And your flagstones are great. I am getting my kitchen floor done like that. We had to split the huge flags ourselves and will be laying them in the next few weeks. Mr B did a great job on them.

Good grief, woman, can you send some of that energy my way?

Hi, Braxton and Lulu!

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
