YICK! Blach! Pooie!....Yuck-o!

OK, maybe a bit over the top.

But did you ever pop in a Hershey Kiss only to find you haven't removed the little paper-flag-thingy in the silver wrapper? And that's the sensation on your tongue? Paper?

Shivers...I just did that...ick...

Kinda like when you make a soft-boiled egg. You are so very careful to crack it just so...tip off the top...put a wee bit of salt and peper..take your first bite only to find .....

A PIECE OF SHELL! ICK...

I guess it can be compared to a rose (a bit of a stretch here, but work with me...)The smell is so sweet - the look is so lovely, but you either put your nose to it and inhale a bee or stab yourself bloody from the thorns.

Life is sorta like that too. Not that I've sniffed to many bees in my life....so far...
but everyone has their "thorns"....

I don't mean people...although some people can be thorns...or bees....not mentioning any names here......

Like a nice walk with the pups. Cold crisp day. Blue skies. Dogs happy. You're happy....birds are chirping...but you know that by the end of the walk, you'll be picking up poop...

Can you tell we're at the end - the clean-up portion - of the remodel?

Yeppers.

One room is heaven on earth. Calm. Peaceful. Pretty. You feel like you own the world...la la la..

You casually walk into the next room and you get hit on the side of the head with the reality stick..

Tools, caulk (!), sewing machine, level, old furniture too good to toss but too big to carry to the garage...lamps no longer wanted...boxes of books you've yet to unpack...and probably yet to read...you get the picture. And PICTURES! I love my family and all the photos and I always want to see them, but good golly.....you'd think I'd know what they all look like by now.....

And it's not pretty. Oh, not the pictures of the family - we're all very pretty...I mean the mess....
See?

I know, I know. Rome wasn't built in a day...or with one tube of caulk...

But you can bet whoever the builder was...somewhere his Roman wife was so very very very very grateful...but going crazy with the mess. (true confessions?? You be the judge..)

So, my lesson here is no late night Hershey Kisses...and if you do have one, make sure the little paper-flag thingy is off prior to popping it in your mouth!

"Tomorrow is the great clean up! Stay tuned...as one middle aged Utah woman ( so, I plan on living to 116, you got a problem with that??) tries to forge a path to the back door only to find more unwanted furniture!! "

g'night, sleep tight and don't let the remodeling bug bite! (at least not for a while....OK Honey??...)

Funny you should notice that my post was at 12:01 or something....I don't know why but could get off to sleep til about 3:00 am. Yuck!! Have a wonderful day, Colleen,

Don't think of it as a mess! Think of it as progress! And the little paper flag thingy . . . fiber! Your finished project room looks absolutely beautiful!

Blessings!

Colleen!!!!!!! I have just done a bit of research and Strokestown is only about 15 mins away from us in Ballinamore. In the summer we are going to go there and take pictures of it for you. We are on a mission! Watch this space. Give us as much info as you can so we can narrow the search for you. Did you know that the Famine Museum is in Strokestown and also a lovely big old stately home that is open to the public. I have been there! Hugs Angie and Pam
