Oh Canada!

Have you ever found cousins you didn't know you had? From another country that you didn't expect?

I have. Guess where from...go on..guess..

OK, OK, here's a hint..look at the blog title...huh? huh?

OK, another hint...

Meet Wilf & Jane - they are just some of my Canadian cousins.

You are sooo good at guessing!

From Victoria...doesn't that just sound lovely? It is.

Seems one whole branch of Daddy's Mother's family settled in Canada! Who knew?

So, I have found I share a paternal Great-Grandmother with many, many, many wonderful cousins, second and even third cousins..

Huh..seems the world just may be a little smaller..

I still think if I had ever met my Great-Grandmother, I would have been her favorite...

Yep, I do. Don't ask me why..

Well, go ahead......

..it's because, what's not to like.

So there you have it.

Have you any stories of finding family? In another country?

This family tree business is really something...

This family tree business, is indeed someting. It takes time and strong will , but it's worth it. The excitement of finding a new relative...
I've been through this, and I'm still not done with it. But the process is very rewarding.

We haven't found relatives but they have found us. Bill was contacted by relatives in USA, who then sent us his family tree already worked out. That was a bonus. My sister in law was doing my brother's tree and found distant cousins in UK I didn't know.It must have been exciting for you to meet them. nice shot of all. Bill was also found by cousins in Switzerland that he didn't know. On our last visit there they took us sightseeing in Berne. It was fun to meet them. I have many cousins in USA, I visited some of them in 1970. I would love to visit again.

I'd love to live in Canada. I don't have anybody there. I don't think anyway. Who knows. Eventually we're all related to everybody. I've put all my genealogy stuff (histories and photos) on a blog. It's a wonderful way to keep it. It's also a never ending project.

I know my uncle was doing geneology before he died. I don't know what happened to all his research. I do know that our family is 100% French Canadian. Bonjour, mon ami!

slightly unconventional but...my father was having an affair for years with a woman. He and my mother are divorced now, he is still with the other woman and...well...her and her two daughters are just a hoot! How they've come into my life is a bit morally questionable but...they're here to stay so, I finally accepted an invite to dinner about a year ago (I had been bitter and noncommunicative for 3) and, well, they're too fun to stay bitter at!
