Spring in the mountains..

...is unpredictable.

...yeah...I really have a grasp of the obvious, huh?

I mean, one day last week, I had the air on in the car..

..cool air..air-conditioned air..

..and yesterday...this..

But we kept our plan to find unique, non-big-chain dining.

And Ruth's Diner, a staple 2 miles up Emigration Canyon for 30 years, is one of the best.

Yeppers, it is.

And, I even managed to stay on my eating plan even while enjoying our favorite participation sport of..

..recreational dining..

and we are champions. Yes we are..

Grandma Evelyn could have had a meal of biscuits if she hadn't ordered a sandwich as well..

So, with my Ruth's special Roasted Red Pepper and Spinach Frittata w/ Ruby Red Grapefruit { your choice of that or hash browns} and Mr. B's Breaded Pork Tenderloin Sandwich on home baked buns..(and did you notice the size of the biscuits? Served with Bear Lake Raspberry Jam??

Yeah..it was a cold, gray, wonderful tasting, beautiful spring week-end in beautiful Utah..

My home..our home.

Thank you Mr. B for a really great week-end :-)

Fun Place! Ya, both Utah in the spring and Ruth's. My son and DIL took me there about a year ago and I loved it. The history of the place is so cool too. Glad you went and had a good weekend Colleen. Oh, the South Town Expo thing got changed. But we can find another time to meet...soon!
Have a great week my friend (o:

I'll have to remember that the next time I'm up there. I am so "home" when I get up in Salt Lake. It really is home to me.

YOU HAVE SUCH WILL POWER!!! That tenderloin would have drawn me in as if I had my fingers in my ears, chanting la la la la.... not listening to the good angel, but giving into the bad angel....
Glad you and Mr. B and Grandma had a great get together!

I was just thinking that I really needed to go have lunch (2:30 pm) as my stomach was rumbling. Decided to visit a couple of blogs first though, and I come to yours with this fabulous looking food. Look at those biscuits! Wow!

Okay - NOW I'm off to eat!

What a great looking place and the food yummy looking. I love old places like this with history. My family had a old diner and people came from everywhere to get in. I think it was all of 1000 sq. ft.
