OK, I'm not in Ireland...yet..

..but I do intend to go someday..I do.

And in the meantime, I can dream, plan, study, find beautiful photos, learn about my Irish roots...

..and learn to eat the food.

Yes, we all know about corned beef and cabbage..and Guinness..

So today Mr. B and I went to a place called MacCool's Public House and at first I was going to have the ordinary salad..or maybe a burger made Irish by way of Irish cheddar..

And then I saw it...homemade Gravlox and Potato Pancake...complete with a dollop of sour cream..and since I had never had Gravlox & Potato Pancake...

It was yummy!

Mr. B had a Corned Beef Reuben with grilled onions instead of sauerkraut and he said is was really good, too.

And the Guinness was actually Diet Coke for him and iced water with lemon for me, but we were as happy as if we'd had a pint..

It was a beautiful day after yesterday's 6 inches of fresh snow..so I know good and spring and maybe even Ireland is not far away..

One can dream..

Sweet dreams, my friends..

Oh Colleen, that sounds like so much fun! Never heard of the place..but the food looks real good. I hope you get your dream of walking in Ireland someday...I love to hear the Irish and Scots talk. Wouldn't it be fun to see either or both...I have a feeling someday that will be one of your posts...that you're on your way. I just know it!!
I've had grand kids for the weekend so haven't been on here much. Tomorrow I'll have a winner for the first giveaway and start on the second one. Stay tuned, them and the story get better...

Take care (o:

I love all the cottages in Ireland, they look so lovely and the rolling hills. I must be Irish, I love potatoes. Your dream sounds like a good one, so keep dreaming until it comes true and you step off the plane.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Hugs, Pat

Brave couple you are! I so rarely try something "new" yet that is how I've learned to enjoy many new things. Wonder why I am so unwilling? Hmmm, let's not ponder that.

(Those pictures of Ireland make me wish that I were more Irish. I've got a dollop of Irish blood. Now my grandmother is a quarter Irish and had an Irish maiden name, though she doesn't wax poetic on the subject the way you do.)

Six inches of new snow? My sincere condolences. Can we call it "poor man's fertilizer" this early?

Colleen -

You must go to Ireland at least once! My ancestors are all from Ireland. My Great Gram was from County Cork. Guinness is good, Paddy's whiskey is better (You can't get it in the US) Do you know only Irish Americans eat corned beef with cabbage? The Irish eat ham and cabbage! Corned beef is too expensive over there.

Re: corned beef. I'm afraid ham is the only pink meat I can eat.

Wanna see what I've been up to ??
