Lots of you have posted pictures on your blogs about your baby birds and I do have to admit I suffered for a long time from...
Nest Envy
Then, because I live right, don't run with scissors, floss and give the "thank-you-for-letting-me-merge-in-front-of-you" wave on the roads...
...there were wee baby hummingbirds..George & Gracie in our own little nest..and I was happy..happyhappyhappy!
Today I saw a couple of
And I've seen plenty of whole quail families..the little ones following in a row..
and we have the chick-lets next door..
But I have never ever ever ever seen baby pigeons..pigeon-etts..have you?
And, I don't mean on Google...you do know they can fake photos, right? Yeah, like there's not really a cross between a jack rabbit and an antelope..the Jack-a-lope..right??
I mean, they have to be eggs at some point..and unless they are freakishly large as toddlers..but I have never ever ever ever seen baby pigeons..they are just always grown-up..
huh..
Look next time..let me know..I've love to see one :-)
Oh, I want a puppy too! Or a monkey..or a.....PONY !....I really do!
Have a good sleep & sweet dreams to you..
-me, again

Those littie hummingbird babies are the sweetest. Another blogger posted a webcame where you could watch Phoebe taking care of her little hummingbird nest and give birth. My friend in San Antonio watched that faithfull and was so fascinated by it as she LOVES hummingbirds and the fact that they come back to visit her year after year. You know, I've never thought about baby pigeons before, but you are right! When are they ever babies? We have a lot of pigeons around here, but never, ever have I seen how they nest or when those little ones take to the sky? Interessting! Have a fabulous Friday and best wishes, Tammy
That's been a topic for discussion in our family for a long time.
You need to ask Eileen the birder. You always find the most suitable pictures for your posts. Well done. I think pigeon babies are big and by the time they leave the nest they are as big as adults...thats my theory.
Your babies are so cute.
No baby pigeons for me either, I've never even seen half-grown pigeons, like you see teenage robins...hmmm...but I did hear that pesky kitten this morning, but hasn't found it's breakfast yet...hmmm...
I'm finding it very odd that our minds are beginning to run in the same wave. Actually, I'm getting a little concerned. Ha! No, I have never seen baby pigeons, but that's not the weird, scary part. The weird, scary part is that I was just thinking that I've never seen baby turkey vultures and had looked it up last night. Last night! See what I mean?
Darn you Colleen! . . .I took the day off from "thinking" and now you come up with THIS! LOL
Have a great holiday weekend sweet lady
i've always wanted a monkey! those hummingbird babies are darling. have a great 3 day weekend!
I have been having a good chuckle.I love your about me comments and concur with you 100%. Love the baby hummingbirds. I have always wanted to see their nest. Your blog is delightful. Now I know where to go for a smile. Thanks for the visit today!
We have had baby hummingbirds too. They are so cute. I haven't seen a baby pigeon either. Have a great weekend.
Well I'll be darn. I never thought of that one Colleen.
Today I took a little step ladder, climbed to see how many blue eggs our mom robin laid yesterday. Four perfect little eggs. Last year Randy and I watched them "fly the coup". Not knowing anything about the wee babes, Randy proceeded to catch all 3, and place them back in the nest. They flew out again and again, After 4 attempts to put them back, he just raised his hands in the air and said "that's it, no more, your on your own". Well she came back, so she must have been watching Randy and thought he was such a good daddy, she laid more this year in the same spot.
Hope you find your answer and get a puppy, or how about adopting a senior dog? I bet Braxton and Lulu would love more co.
Have a great weekend Colleen.
Happy Pink Saturday tomorrow. Just because : )
Love Claudie

I would love to see a baby hummingbird, that would be so awesome! Last night, I did see a baby owl in the hollow of our old apple tree. That was a real treat!!
Had a nest of humming birds in a front yard tree in Arizona once. Was awesome watching them feed the little ones when they hatched, then grow like crazy, then fly away. Enjoy your little birdie family...
A book about pooping on people..haha!
