Oh, it was a blustery day.....

This is what November should look like...

I love the word “blustery”…from Winnie the Pooh…but as I previously wrote, I like the old Pooh better than the Disney Pooh.

Anyway, I love this image of Pooh, with his back to us, walking hand in hand with little piglet..the leaves swirling around them both.

With days like this, I think I can smell date-nut bread baking in the tin cans that Mother saved just for her recipe.

Hot tea is the drink of the day..somehow, although I do love coffee, tea is somehow softer..soothing.
Mother would never let us drink coffee, but we could have tea, sweetened and with cream. It still feels “soft” to me..and soothing.

Like a liquid comforter…. on the inside..

Yellow and red leaves, some wet and stuck to the pavement. Some on the sidewalk, as if waiting for the traffic to allow them to skittle across the street.

And as a car swooshes by, skittle they do! In groups..families of little yellow-gold–red leaves skittering across the busy street.

It’s raining and some of the drops hit harder than others. That’s when I noticed some of is it Frizzle – freezing-drizzle – and it stings as it gets me on the cheek.

The darks are darker, the brights are brighter, the greens are greener and the golds, well, brilliant.

It’s as if God has taken the world and plugged it into “HD” - and He’s good at that....
The real Reality show...

I also like the darker days that one needs to put on a few lights in the house. The warm glow- and everything looks better in the soft light…me..the dust bunnies…the textures in the front room…

And I’m listening to Christmas songs in my left-ear-headset-thingy. I know, I know, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet.

You’re right. But this music, which can be listened to anytime of year, is especially appealing on blustery days like today.

So enjoy…slow down..pay attention..and be thankful. And, didja vote??

Wishing you beautiful, blustery days…and re-read a little Winnie the Pooh..it will warm you right up..along with that cuppa tea...

How appropriate...I'm having a cup of tea, reading about your blustery day...it was very blustery here...but then we had a loooong hail storm. Leaves came down like crazy. Thanks for sharing Pooh! Laurie

Those are the day I love! Most of our leaves are off of our trees. it sure looks different to look at the mountain tops now. Have a great day.

Great post! I could smell and feel the cold as I was reading. I agree, we all need the dark days now again to snuggle in and fell cozy. A perfect reason to slow and down and reflect :-) Rosie

This time of year all streets look like a Thomas Kincade(sp) painting. With the softness of the light through the windows and all the color everywhere.
