Chicago, Chicago that toddlin' town..

A few more shots of my mini-vacation (thanks kids and grands..and Mom-in-Law and Mr. B for the birthday spending money!)

At the hotel we stayed at, there was a fABlOuS coffee table book called....

..and it took all that was holy NOT to try to slip it in my bag..it was soo fun to look at..so I did the next best thing..

I took photos of most of the pages so I could share it with you..

It has pages of history and origins and stories of ...shoes..

And the artwork, whether it be photos of paintings..was beautiful!

And because it is Breast Cancer Awareness month, Chicago went all out - decorating streets, using pink lights on some buildings and just letting making people more ..aware..

Then there was the juxtaposition of the sights...

Large, cold very business building...with one lone flower box..

..the old...

...the new..

And then there were the signs that reminded me of loved ones...

Bear trying to look up this one's skirt..shame on you Bear! Mr. B..this one's for you.

This is for Ella Ireland...her favorite store EVER!

See, I didn't really spell Jeff's name wrong...everyone said it should be "Jeffrey"

Johnny's Grill , for my son-in-law Johnny, Ella's Daddy..

I don;t know what it is about bathrooms..or the fact that I was sooo very impressed with the LACK of graffiti in and around downtown Chicago..I saw none- NONE..even in the public bathroom stalls...

Of course, there shouldn't be any within the hotel room..:-)

Have a great Sunday..and Gerri's cancer is staged at a "zero" - meaning they got it all with the lumpectomy! She may not even need radiation and chemo is avoided ! :-) Thanks for the prayers, I know they were taken into consideration by the big boss :-)

Another fun blog and a great news one too. Awesome for Gerri! Just a thought, maybe you could find that book about shoes somewhere on this thing we call a computer. Would be fun to see all the old pictures in it. I myself think shoes are over rated. First thing that comes off when I get home. Next thing is the bra...they're over rated also. Just had to add that since we're on the *boob* subject (O:
