First my sister Kathy...
Kathy is the second from the left, first it's her daughter Karri, then Kathy, Kaliee and Ells, Karri's kiddos and Kathy's grands..
...can you tell I come from a sophisticated and shy family??? Yeah..not so much.
But boy-howdy... we can jump..
But boy-howdy... we can jump..
Then my sister Gerri..
Then my daughter April...
Then the sweetest call of all...Dorothy..my late Mother's best friend in the whole wide world...for 70+ years..
Dorothy is 91 now and yet her voice is as strong as her love of life...one would n.e.v.e.r guess her age if you happened to call her..
She actually dated my Dad and it didn't work out for whatever reason so she introduced him to her best friend, my Mother!
Of course this was before she was my Mother...or my Dad was my Dad for that matter..
Anyway, she shared a story or two about my Mother and it was fun hearing about when they were young..in the heyday of Chicago in the 20's and 30's..
Amazing..this woman..this Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother..friend..and link to my past..
Easy to say she made my day..
..and I wanted to share what I did today...a little "art therapy"..
I will be sewing the top over and inserting a dowel to attach ribbon to be a hanger..but I like the way it turned out.
you can surely tell I've not sewn much before but maybe it adds to the "homemade" feel..
Yeeeeah, that's it...I did that crooked sewing..uh...intentionally..
Really love the fabric collage work of kc Willis..see my sidebar...
Anyway, we're expecting snow by mid week..just a dusting on the valley floor.
Quote of the day....
"lol" has gone from meaning "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing to say.."
...so...lol :-)

My first reading of the day (as usual) to set myself up!
Isn't it just wonderful to communicate with older people... they have such a wealth to share. I regularly visit my 98 year old dad in his care home and I love so much to sit a while and listen to the stories his fellow residents have to tell.
Beautiful fabric piece Colleen. Crooked sewing is very much 'in'(which is handy for me because I dont do 'straight and neat')lol. kcwillis is a good mentor to have.
I dont know if you got my last message but, if you care to e-mail me with your e-mail address, I will get your home address and send you some of the chipboard frames that you were admiring.
Great pictures of your family stuff, and how awesome to still keep in touch with Dorothy. I love listening to someone from that era tell their stories. And what a sweet creation to share! Who cares if something isn't *perfect*... Makes life more interesting to color outside the lines (O: I Did manage to read what's under the picture... CUTE!
You have a great Monday.
It's a lovely collage and the only thing that matters is that it contains items that are meaningful to you... damn crooked stitches!
