I think I may have...

...the Benjamin Button syndrome...you know, getting younger...

..except mine's in my head - the body still looks like an old lady.

Like tonight..couldn't decide what I wanted to eat..Mr. B wanted a burrito ..so I picked up some fast food Mexican for Mom-in-Law and Mr. B but I still didn't know what I wanted..

..and all I could think about was........ a bowl of cereal.

Used to drive me nuts when I'd cook and the kids would say "Can I just have a bowl of cereal?"

But, I can totally understand now...I {LOVE } cereal.

You know the kind with a prize inside..well, not really..

..but I have been known to order a Kid's meal so I could get the prize...Hey, I could've had a kid in the car..I could..

I didn't..

..but I could have.

Then there's the whole "giggly-girl" thing. Today at work, I was leaving a voice mail message (and I need to say we've been really crazy-busy..so we're all a bit....uh..slap-happy)
I tried to do ....MATH...

In my head...

Over the phone...and I'm really not used to anyone else working with me, so I heard this stifled giggle coming from right close by..

{ do I sound like a hick or what... "right close by"}

And sweet Jillian was laughing and trying not to so I wouldn't mess up any more, but the more she tried NOT to laugh, the more she did..Cayce in the background asking "What's so funny" What's going on??"

..and the more confused I became and rattled something about "giving a refund on part of the purchase so your total cost would be......................................................................(weather report: l.o.n.g. silence with scattered giggles)..uh..um...whatever you paid for it. Bye"

And, I used to be so, oh, I don't know... professional...in my dress, in my speaking..in my life.

Now I'm the Queen of Comfort...speak dyslexic-ly..(my words seem to come out in no particular order) .have industrial strength hair...and , get this...wear comfortable, UGLY shoes.

My "toys" are all over my art room...I can't wait to spend all my allowance...and I start planning for the week-end on Monday..

My mind wanders and I say things before I think ...

Oh well...guess my "inner-adult" needs to go to bed now...good night and have a FUN day tomorrow, on a Tuesday no less!

-me

Yeah...it's all Greek to me too..

Great post, I love your stories. Wish I could write like you do. I so just get to the point. Your method is so interesting and amusing. Keep up the good work.
Guess I should try to get some sleep before the sun rises.
Have a great day!
Hugs, Pat

Has anyone suggested you should write a book? Perhaps a project when you 'retire'? I think it would be a best-seller!

I think you just described my life. Maybe we're in the same state of puberty.

Yep. Thats one good thing about getting old...you care less and giggle more and don't feel guilty or ashamed. There has to be some plusses to old age. Loved your funny post and OK! OK! I meant "pensioner discounted tickets". Now I had a giggle when I read in your post that you "could have had a kid in the car"...I nearly had my second in the ambulance.

Giggle more, be less serious... I wish I learned this about 15 years ago! I think I have been making up more new words lately.... You do need to write a book... short stories, I would buy it, I would give it as gifts... Let me know when it is out, I will come to the signing party!!

You and I are so alike in being Queens of Comfort. I have a pair of funny looking Mary Jane type shoes that are sooo comfortable. And I used to make fun of my friend and her Birkenstocks??

I love cereal too, but seeing that cute illustration made me remember that I hated Cream of Wheat when I was a kid. I'd be late for school every morning mom served it. Now I'm fine with it. Hmmm???

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
