Hi everyone, 'tis Herself!

Just a quick update and a huge Thank You all once again.

Mr.B is resting {sort of} well. You know how it is...

..you just fall asleep and it's:

-shift change

-time for "vitals"

-time for meds..

-time to ask a sleeping patient, "Mr. B? Are you sleeping okay or do you need a sedative??"

-time to eat, potty, walk (with much assistance..and trepidation..

Oh..and with screamin' yellow-rubber-feeted socks on..

Everyone we speak to, including nurses, techs, janitors..

butchers, bikers and candlestick makers all say the same thing..

"ohhhhh, one broken rib is painful, and he has 8??!! AND a broken collarbone?? And 9 stitches?
(Actually, staples..)

{note to self: DO NOT walk him by any magents..}

Road-rash is NOT nearly what it could have been - just a little on his back, shoulder,
elbow and wrist.

The angels were definitely with him on this one..it could have been sooo much worse!

And, yes, he definitely knows I'm going to give him even more broken ribs if he ever tries anything like that without the "proper" safeguards...

When I asked about a helmet while he was in the ER,he shyly said "no"..then he added...

"But I was wearing SUNBLOCK!!"

Oh goodie...no sunburn reported by any medical staff..

So, we're here for a few days more. He'll be hospitalized for 5 to 6 days then restricted to April's house for another 5 to 7 days before the Docs will allow him to fly.

"Pain management" mostly. And physical therapy. And rest. And learning to be able to work through the pain to do such things we normally take for granted.

I'll have limited access to the Internet but I'll try to give any important updates.

Thank you again for your prayers, support and love. You'll never know how tickled Mr. B gets..but don't make him laugh (or hiccup, sneeze, or cough)

He sends his love to all..

oh thank goodness.......glad he is on the mend.......and how are you doing, sweetie? I know how hard it is to keep a positive attitude when our loved one is in pain...my honey goes in for surgery on Friday...a mass on his thigh...we do not know what it is..he says its an alien!!

Heart Hugs,
Coleen

Good thoughts and prayers go out to both of you. I know how hard it is to take care of a sick loved one. Keep your sense of humor and get enough rest!!!

Just can't leave you two alone for five minutes...seriously...take care of that Mr. B and hope you're home soon and he recovers quickly.

My 81 year old Dad is still riding his BMW, I worry every time he leaves my driveway...but he says...what a way to go!

Take care sister!

Well for Petey Sakes! I didn't realize Mr. B is the one with all the injuries! Oh poor Mr. B what will we do with you? I'm sending some sunscreen and a helmet. The cops will be over and waiting at your house to give you a ticket and to take all bikes from your house. "Oh I'm sorry don't laugh!"
They are also waiting on Colleen to give her a summons to go to court, which they will gladly give her a ride to jail for allowing you to do this to him. She will be on vacation for awhile, while you get rest and relaxation. And the dogs will be bringing you dog biskets so you don't starve to death. Thanks kids! Now stop this foolishness and let me rest. Bye, Dr. Pearl Oh P.S. Mr. B the puppies have your meds also just ask for one :)

What a kind heart that daughter of yours has to relay your message to your fans. We know it is hard for you to be away from us bloggies... So glad to hear Mr. B. is going to be okay. Hey those staples might make a nice bracelet, ya know, a little reminder of WHAT NOT TO DO... Glad to hear you are fine too, that you didn't suffer a stroke, hearing your hubby was kissing the ground while riding. Maybe you can share some quality time with April while Mr. B. is healing!Prayers for you and Mr. B. for a quick recovery and safe trip home....

Hey there girlie! We can't let you two out of the house for 5 minutes before you're into some kind of mischief! Does Mr. B realize the many, many, MANY backseat nurses you have reading your blog and how each one of us is 'tsk, tsking' him?? So happy that this mishap wasn't any worse than the injuries he's already dealing with. You are both in my prayers darlin'! You take care of yourself as well....get some sleep! : ) Hugs to you both!

Colleen: Happy, happy to know how you're both doing. Laughter is the best medicine (even if it does hurt Mr. B); you'll keep him well-dosed. And I'm SO relieved he was wearing his sunblock! Hugs from here...

Oh Colleen, I'm so sad to hear of Mr. B's accident. Thank God he will be okay! But 8 broken ribs and a broken collarbone . . . ouch! At least he was wearing that sunscreen - bless his heart, still has his sense of humor!

Just wanted you to know that we'll be thinking of you and your family and sending up prayers for a speedy recovery for Mr. B. And please don't forget to take care of yourself, too, sweetie!
