Hey! It's "Pink Saturday" !

The weather's a changin' here is Sandy, Utah today! Winds, rain, and gray...my favorite
I know, I know. You'd think I'd like the sunny bright days..and, I guess I do.
But I REALLY love how the various colors a gray day makes..the greens of the grasses, the yellow and oranges of the leaves in contrast to the dark, gray skies.

Really pretty...

And now for today's "Pink" offering:

One of my favorite signs...

My daughter April and her family are doing the Race for the Cure this week-end - so this is for my Mother, my Grandmother and Me :-)

I know at first what you see is the orange, but I love the pink flowers and it is one of my favorite (early) photos of my darling little family: Andy (my biker dude) then Jeff (my CNN reported "decorated-cubicle at work winner") , Brandi, Ella Ireland's Mommy, and my sweet and oh-so-smart April, the leader of the pack.

If you look closely, I covered the canvas's with telephone-book pages, then did a watered-down paint/stain wash, used rub-ons as well as sticker-letters and typed the words out in strips. It is one of my favorite pieces.

Speaking of Ella Ireland, this is one of her sweet shirts that I have hanging up in my art room. She lives in New Jersey, so I need to feel I have a little bit of her with me in physical world (all of the grands live away, so I do always carry them in my heart!)

So, that's my offering on a beautiful gray day in Utah. Hope you all have "pink" in your day and in your lives.

Have a great week-end all!

Welcome to your first Pink Saturday, Colleen.

I love your sign, and I love the philosophy. Good for you to keep things around that remind you of those you love.

I pray that one day the cures for all cancers will be found. Until then, we keep on fighting.

Thank you for sharing your story. I have two friends who are survivors, and I am inspired by them, too. You take good care of yourself.
