One Yummy-Sunday on Main Street...

...yes it was.

One of the nice things about me working now is that Mr. B has taken over the cooking duties...picture me smiling like the Cheshire cat..while doing a little victory lap AND while dancing the happy-dance...

And did he make a wonderful dinner tonight... ribs, tomatoes, corn and beans...

...with his Mother making desert..well I am one
"heck-yes-I'll-go-to-work-and-get-catered-to "
..happy working woman..

Mt. Dew Apple Bake (Seriously…)

½ Stick butter
½ C. Sugar
½ teaspoon Cinnamon ( you can use more ..)
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 can Crescent rolls
3 Granny Smith apples
1- 12oz. can Mt. Dew ..really..

Spray an 8 X 8 pan
Peel & core apples – cut each into 8 pieces
Put 2-3 slices of apple into each of the crescent rolls and roll them up – place with the side with the most dough UP.

Melt the butter, mix the sugar, cinnamon, vanilla until smooth. Pour over the rolls. Pour Mt. Dew around the rolls (not on top of the topping! )and bake 42 minutes @ 350°

Make 8 servings – serve warm with ice cream. Mmmm..

Earlier today, we went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Had their New England Blueberry pancakes - very good!

Of course, had to look in the little store - found the cutest Glitter Fairy sticker books for my granddaughters, Ella and Emily... (got one for me too!)

Thought on this one, I can find a photo and put the Fairy outfits on the girl's photo - making them the paper doll!

Found this neat looking Genealogy book. ( by Laura Best) It has some good info and some cute ideas for displaying old photos. Well Worth the $9.95 I paid for it. May even help me in my job..

Wouldn't these make cute place-card displays for your next family get-together??
(This was aonther idea from the remarkable Mr. B..)

Also made some coffee-stained tags with today's left-over coffee. I did an old watercolor trick and while they were still wet with the coffee, I sprinkled salt n them - then brushed it off when they were dry - they got this motley look with this trick

So as you can see, we had a really nice Sunday. I'm so much more ready for the work week with great memories of the week-end!
Have a great Monday!

When Eric is home he pretty much exclusively does the cooking! I love it! Partly it's because I'm at work until 7 or 8 at night and partly because he loves to cook!
I'm gonna have to give that Mt. Dew thingee a try! : )
