Run, run run run Runaround......

Yesterday I did some "running around" - something I haven't done much of while I have been home.

Actually, I drove.

I still need to get in my art room and organize, purge, donate etc., but it's one of those jobs you put off and find "other" things that need to be done first....like..

Oh, here's a coupon for free ink cartridge fill-up from Walgreen's - I'll drop mine off to see how it works - then while I'm out, I'll stop by the bookstore to see if they have ....

Nope. But they did have....

This is one of the neatest books I've seen in a while...so truthful and funny all at the same time.

Here's an expert:

It says (actually, it reads..) that you can open the book to any page and get the message..it doesn't have to be read from page 1 to the end. Love that..it's funny, deep, true and written to be used. Highly recommend this one.
So, anyway, decided to stop by Target to pick up things for dinner..yes, we need to eat AGAIN!
Made Balsamic Pork Chops, corn and loaded potatoes...

"Bless me Weight Watcher's for I have sinned.....AGAIN..."

However, I did make the Diet Coke cake to finish off the meal. Have you tried this?? It's really good then you can try various diet sodas with various cake mixes for various tastes!

Now, this is a complicated recipe and process so pay attention...

Ingredients:

Diet soda - 12 oz.

Cake mix - any flavor

Bowl

Pan

Oven

Mix - one can of diet soda to the dry cake mix, stir until smooth. Pour into a pan sprayed with a non-caloric spray (like PAM)...and bake as usual.

It doesn't raise as much but what you get is a moist, light cake. Top with Fat Free Cool Whip or fruit and you're all set. We have made a Lemon cake with Diet Sprite and a little lemon zest - good! Also, white cake with diet Orange Creme soda...Mmmm..let you imagination go wild...Mmmm- Diet Cherry Coke and chocolate cake.....Spice cake with Diet Sprite...

OK, anyway, back to the outing...

Since I was at Target, it was close to another bookstore Sooooo...they DID have the Somerset issue I wanted - smile...

They also had....

It has a whole article about Penny from Lavender Hill Studio! One of us bloggers! Actually, she's quite an accomplished mosaic artist, as you'll see. But I feel I know her - so I have had my touch with greatness ....

And while in the check-out line I spotted this....

Written in the style of "all Creatures Great & Small", this too is the remeberies of a vet. Looked fun and it was on the "Reduced!" shelf....Oh, and while in line I remembered Mr. B wanted some state maps - Wyoming and North Dakota - and wondered if they had any - well, they did - so I bought those too. Then I spotted a book my Daughter-in-Law might like sooo...

(a little of my ADD showing here??)

Off to the liquor store. No, not for booze - although can you imagine ME on booze! I'd probably get all serious and grumpy..heehee..

Anyway, I went for boxes to start the clean-up in the art room. By the time I got home it was time to start dinner, so I couldn't possibly start the art room, right??

OK, so today - no excuses. Got the boxes. Walked the dogs. Made the bed...wrote my blog...ok,ok, I'd better get started. Wish me luck!

Spring cleaning is NOT for wimps...

Hope the clean-up is going well. Looks like you had a great time, what terrific books. Wow, Penny was in the magazine. She does the most beautiful work, doesn't she. What a talented lady. Love the pork chops too & the cake sounds.....different. Meant to tell you, Coll is a common abbreviation of our name over here (Aussies abbreviate everything - hee hee).
Hugs, Coll :-}
PS: Sam is my grandson (see my daughter Shann's blog, Paint Mine Pink).

I know I saw that article on Penny...she is so talented! I love visiting her blog. Diet coke cake? how many calories are in a piece? I may have to fall off the wagon and start my diet coke addiction again...
