Have you ever....

...wanted to do so much but couldn't decide what to do, so you did nothing?

....me neither.

Or just had too much "stuff" and couldn't do anything because you just have too much stuff? And, you buy more stuff..and now need places to store your stuff...and you sometimes buy the SAME stuff twice?

...yeah..me neither.

Or had a head full of so many ideas, thoughts, questions and "ah ha" moments that you couldn't sleep at night??

Well, me neither.

So this next few weeks I have decided to really , really, really go through what I laughingly call my "art room" (sounds much more creative that my "I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-this-junk" room, huh?) and purge all the stuff I think I will use "someday".

Grant me the strength to sort the papers, get rid of the ribbons, toss the embellishments, dump the bits, boxes and baubles that have been collecting in here for years.

I must be strong...no trips to the inside of the thrift store- only the "donation" bins.

No magazine isle in the store...actually, no stores.....

No wandering into the craft isle at Wal-Mart. No going to Jo-Ann's Fabrics and Crafts just to "see what's there"..

It'll be hard. I have flutter-bys in my stomach already and I'm just writing about doing it.

Why are we so attached? And so afraid to actually use the things we buy to use? I don't want to use that pretty paper because then I won't have it anymore to use...

....huh???

Hmmm...maybe I'd better go buy the Oprah magazine and see if she has had an "Ah Ha" moment about this or is in the "What I know for sure" column.....

...or,maybe not...

So, wanna go together on this cleaning project? See what we can get rid of? See how full we can get the garbage cans??

Nah, me neither.

Yep... I have the same disease. I'm starting to go through things for our big move, and I'm sure some would be amazed at some of the "junk" I must keep! By the way... I missed something somewhere... are you not working now?

Hey, I can think of much worse vices!!! We are gatherers, right? I can't help it Colleen, I love my stuff!!! If something ever should happen to me, my family will FREAK at the amount of supplies I've stockpiled but I still love finding more ~ just remember a "stash" is "a good thing!" Hope you're doing great sweetie, xxoo, Dawn

I'm with you. I'll do my computer room which has become my ebay catch all cast offs.

I have several other areas that need help but I'll start there.

Oprah once had a show many years ago about NOT USING THINGS; she specifically referred to this set of sheets she was saving.

So let's all either get rid of the "sheet"(s) or use them. :)

I've been purging and cleaning out and packing and planning for a yard sale. I decided over the weekend that I really cannot face the thought of doing the yard sale thing, so I'm going to have a few of my closest friends over to the house this weekend, let them pick through the junque, take what they want and the rest will get shipped off to the thrift store. You've heard of "share the wealth". Well, I'm going to share the junque! One gal's trash is another gal's treasure?!

Blessings!

That dog is me for sure. I have so many ideas and things I need to do. I wanna crawl in bed cover my head and wake up with it finished.
Goodluck.

Greetings from central Texas, Colleen. Me, neither, but I am trying. Hah! Since arriving back in Texas on December 28th, I have been slowly assembling some of the things I treasure most--some of which I've owned for as long as 30 years--to display in my booth at the Round Top Antiques Fair, April 2-5. That's a big one, drawing people from all over the U.S., even Europe and south of the border. Have you heard of it up in Utah? Yes, I get a little if-fy here and there, and some things I intended to offer up still sit where they've rested for the last few years. Believe me, for every step forward, I'm taking a couple to the side. On April 10-11, my sisters and a couple of other friends, all who like treasure hunting, are joining me in a garage sale here in the country. We're celebrating with a cookdown one of those nights. Wish you could join us. Best regards, Harold
