How do YOU stay warm?

OK, yeah, I know Utah has not been as frigid as other states, but when I walk the dogs in the morning it is uber c.o.l.d.

So, I do layers-thingy..the undershirts..
..the long-johns..
..the jacket..

..the socks (tucked into the long-johns..)

..the ear muffs.....the scarf..

..and the gloves..

..and the gloves..

{those handcuffs would never hold a real person..just FYI}

nope, not a typo. I've been wearing 2 pairs of gloves.

I'm the kind of girl who, if my hands or feet are cold, I am miserable.

MISerable. miSErable. miserABLE.

And not very happyable.

HAPPyable. happYAble. happyABLE.

Anyway, today when I was walking, my double-gloved fingers were still cold. Very cold.

Then I remembered if I get the blood flowing to my extremities (my fingers), they (my fingers) would get warmer.

I shook my hands and wiggles my fingers as we walked and, whaddya know, they warmed up.

That's when I noticed my nose was cold. so...I wiggled it around..looking like a chubby Bewithced Samantha..

Mouth cheeks..really, when you think about it, if you wiggle one around, they both move, so that was an easy fix.

Now picture 2 small dogs walking a chubby-Bewitched-Samantha -finger-wiggling fingers-nose lips and cheeks-twitching me, slip-sliding with little baby steps walking down the street.

Yeah. Not my best moment.

Punxsutawney Phil, be warned.

Now I know why I live in Brisbane. I just go outside to warm up if the aircon gets too cold. In winter I just need a sweater.

I feel the same way about heat. I hate to be too hot!

But I'll admit it's been colder this winter for a longer stretch of time than I ever remember of my five Utah winters. At least we have 250+ sunny days to brighten things up a bit!

P.S. Found your blog from Just Breathe, congrats on your Prolific Blogger Award :)

How about going on cross-country skiis? That would keep you warm.

Hahahahahaha...you are a riot! Now this Northeast gal is going to tell you the secret. Layers are great, but there must be some room between the layers or you will get very cold. I'm thinking your big gloves minus the little ones will work better. For example, I can not wear thick socks with my boots...my feet freeze if I do.

I'm just impressed that you get out and walk in the cold! Do your little puppies wear coats? or do you just end up with pupcicles...

Oh yes, I'm with you... I detest cold feet and hands. I bought a "real" pair of boots last year from Tractor Supply ( a real outdoor person's store). Man, I walked in the snow yesterday and my feet never got cold or wet. Thank God for good boots! I might actually learn to love the snow again.
