Oh Baby! I've got the "Yard Sale" blues......

Obsessive Shopper Sale resulting in the * I Have too Much Stuff Sale*
Sandy, UT   84070   -   Jun 18, 2011

This is the one yard sale you shouldn’t miss..crafts, scrap booking, stamping, fabric supplies. And entire craft room of 15 years..out..zip..gone..goodbye

Too much furniture for too small a house..

Extremely expensive Somerset Magazines..yeah..you know the ones..

One day..Saturday, June 18th from 9am until I’m too tired ..then it just all has to go away.

It really should go away with you…right?

OK, not so much as blue like in I'm so sad..but since going through "stuff"...my house looks like something our of the show "Hoarders"..which if you saw how much stuff I had "stuffed" into my little art room..well..you get the picture..

But also because in digging out from all the stuff..I found good stuff..happy stuff...fun-cool-neato-great-stuff..{!!}

And..I find myself saying.."Oh wouldja look at this? Isn't it fun/cool/neato?" ..to no one in particular, 'cos I'm usually alone when I venture in there..

And my reasonable self starts this tug-of-war with my inner kiddo ."This needs to go into the sell box.."

"NO way!"

Yes.way....

..and so it goes.  The reasonable me has won quite a few..but the inner brat..kiddo has held onto a few things as well.

So, tomorrow it will be up at 4am..shower. dress. make-up and hair...set up tables....price.worry..fret.."is anyone coming?"..worry..uh-oh.."too may people at once..no I will NOT take a quarter for that..OK OK..just take it.. Is it over yet??"

Count monies..Yippee! Divide the money by the hours I put in  and supplies bought...realize I am now making WELL below the poverty level..

Vow.."nevermore"...

Look over stuff..decide what to hold on to for the next yard sale...restate vow..

Ask Mr. B to hurry and take all of the leftovers to DI.(thrift /donation store )

Look at art room now..think out loud..

"WHY is her STILL sooo much stuff  LEFT??"

So it goes on Main Street USA..

..and if you're in the neighborhood, come by and see us..

I so wish I were in your area. My daughter is a hoarder too, but she is in denial. (D'nial is not just another river in Egypt...or something) Purge! Purge! Take a clutter laxative and rid yourself of the excess. Come on. You can do it. Good luck, sweet bloggy friend.

Oh how I wish I were in your area. I'd be snapping up some of those terribly expensive Somerset magazines that give me such a thrill to see gals I know featured in them. Oh dear. You're a brave one and I'm glad that you're doing this because it is inspiring me. It is!

I swear I spent the first 55 years of my life collecting stuff. Now we are down sizing. We had our first rummage sale on Memorial day and made $300.00. First layer at cottage gone. More layers to get rid of, before we can live the 'simple'life.

One step at a time to de-clutter...too late in the season for me but come this fall I'm going to have a couple of big ones!

They say if you are having a sale, then nothing should go back in the house because the whole purpose of the sale is to get rid of it. I am feeling a need to purge. Too much stuff hanging around to collect dust and we've been have dust storms every day. :/ Good luck with your sale! Best wishes, Tammy

I hope it went well! I so wish I lived closer. My tiny craft room in my tiny house can always be crammed with more supplies :).

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
