No silly, this isn't a post about me & Mr. B...we're always together.
Well, we like to think we're "all together"..
This is a continuation on the lovely kitchen semi-remodel.
And at one point, it actually looked like a semi had been run through the kitchen.
But, it's always calm before the storm..um..that's not fitting here..it's always darkest before the sun comes up..it has to get worse before it can get better?
Yeah..that's the one.
We are lucky to have great neighbors..Jenny, the pie-making-chicken-mama-great Mommy of 2 little boys..happens to be married to a really neat guy, Brooks.
And whenever, we get in "over our head" {you'll realize how funny that truly is in the following photos..ah..I crack me up.}
Anyway, when the plea for help was sent over the chicken coop...Brooks came right over..
And, did I mention he's talented too? Doing full-on hand stands in the kitchen!
OK, you got me..flipped the pic.
Here he is with the lovely and talented Mr. B..
Yep, the sheet rock {wonder why they call it "sheet rock" anyway?} is up and our other neighbor {no, not Jenny} Robert will be over in the morning to "mud and tape" ..or is it tape & mud? ..anyway, the whole thing should be ready for Mr. B to paint tomorrow evening :-)
Happy happy. I will have light, clean floors and an actual roof over my head..
OK, OK, a ceiling if you must..
So, when you look up at your ceiling....remember it didn't get there by itself....not to say Brooks put yours up..but someone did, right??
Have a Fun-Sun-Day ~

Wanna see what I've been up to ??
I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...

We take so much for granted, until its missing. Even a kitchen ceiling. A kitchen remodel is such a disruption in one's life. Good luck with the project.
What a great guy! Both of them! There is an easier way, but we won't discuss it here because it's much more fun to see Brooks doing handstands. I'm sure that you are eager to have it all back in tip-top shape.
That's the one thing I miss the most about my carpenter husband, I'd make a suggestion...and when I got home from work, he'd have it done...my chicken house magically appeared that way. Hope he's still buildin' stuff up there!!!

And when those two are through, send them down here. I could use a few things done.
Cute idea to "flip" the picture. Kitchen remodels are tough cuz we're in the kitchen so much for our life's sustenance--food. Or at least for me.
It's SUPER to have helpful, handy neighbors! :-)
Here, our neighbors are family. And so, they *HAVE* to be helpful. -giggles- Especially since they are always asking my husband, for his help. :-)
Congratulations!! I know exactly how you feel! We have been doing my bathroom over....started in OCTOBER....and hopefully will be done by EASTER! I am looking forward to a floor and a TOILET soon!! Can't wait to 'tour' your new kitchen when you get it all done!
Looks like it's almost done. And you'll be so happy you did it!
All in the name of track lighting? Dang I would have put a lamp on the ceiling! Yep glue it right up there with a pull cord :) glad it will soon be over for you.
Home improvements, a pain in the making, a joy when done!
Colleen, you crack me up! Love how you flipped that photo. And at 5 am, you are wittier than anyone I know! :) I always leave your blog smiling. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy
Another good giggle . Thank you Colleen. Isn't it great to have good neighbours. Are those guys extra tall or is your ceiling low? No one put our ceiling up because we don't have one. hee hee. You'll feel a million dollars when it is all done.
I can just see you thinking of the handstand when you took that picture. Classic! Glad things are coming together ;)
well, i don't think i have to guess how happy you'll be when all of the dust has settled (literally) around your house! thank goodness for handy men.......who know how to keep a roof over our heads (literally!). :))
p.s. thanks for stopping by my blog.....your guess is correct, i've been using the koi travel w/c set and i really love it! the colors are wonderfully vivid!
Wow, it's looking great. How nice to have such a talented neighbor.
Why am I not surprised that you have terrific neighbors? New kitchen! Boy, I do have lots of catching up to do.
Best,
Colleen
I hear you on the renos, Colleen! We're doing two bathrooms at once, with toilets removed to replace floors. Nothing is less fun than sharing a bathroom with three men...LOL.
Your flipped photo cracked me up! Being vertically challenged, I'm in awe of anyone who can touch the ceiling and the floor at the same time, no matter which way is up!
I loved your comment on my chair post about your grandparents...we emigrated from Ireland when I was eleven so I never got to sit down with them, adult to adult, and get to know them. As you say, it would have been lovely to have had that chance...:)
It's a guy thing for sure....
good to have them around sometimes :)
Oh, wonderful news...I was just trying to picture you cooking with all that protective plastic everywhere...
