Well, actually, a child of the 50's..sort of.
OK, OK, I was born in 1949..but near the end..so I am sort of a child of the ...50's..
And I'm just beginning to be a child again..in my 60's .
.
..and no, that is not me...although I think she's sweet and I love her sense of creativity..and as my Daddy used to say..
"Creativity comes before good taste.."
That and .."a donut without a hole is a Danish.." ...but that's not really relevant..
Oh, and this is not Mr. B and me...
..although, once again.??....uh..never-mind. This is just disturbing..
Speaking of disturbing..while searching for some images of "hippies" I came across this vintage ad..
..don't ask me...I hope I'm not offending anyone here..but I thought it was funny..maybe they meant herpes??
{note added: OMG!! They WERE talking about herpes! WHaa??? I looked it up..how rude!!}
OK, back to thinking..wow..that just about did me in..
ANYWAY...Nope. It's not Hippies like the people-hippies..
And not Rose Hips..
Nope...it's MY hips..
..and, yes, those are not my hips, too. But great park benches, dontchathink?
Actually, it's one hip..
..not the one she's grabbing..the one on the other side. My right hip..the one Madame Sylvia has in the air in the other photo..
Hey, wasn't that a movie?? Oh, yeah, it was "My Right Foot"
Well, my right foot is just fine, thankyouverymuch. It's the hip.
Ever since I fell on the ice before Christmas..Guess I need to go to the ol'Doc and see what's up.
But in the meantime, I found this great little ditty {I love that word! D.I.T.T.Y..it just make me happy typing it.dittydittydittyditty..} about Hips.
Homage to My Hips
these hips are big hips.
they need space to
move around in.
they don't fit into little
petty places. these hips
are free hips.
they don't like to be held back.
these hips have never been enslaved,
they go where they want to go
they do what they want to do.
these hips are mighty hips.
these hips are magic hips.
i have known them
to put a spell on a man and
spin him like a top

Well, there you have it.. my mighty, magic hips are FREE to do whatever they wish..
It would have been nice if they hadn't decided to fall on the ice before Christmas..
But obviously, they have a mind of their own..
I just wish the right hip would know what the left hip was doing..
Oh yeah...that's for hands. huh..
Have a Sweetest of Valentine's days and remember I love you all :-)
-the old hipster...
-yeah, me

I always thought I could be one, but since I was busy changing diapers and making bottles, I never got to run away with them...But then looking at the ones who are still being them (?) guess I'm glad for the *couldn't do's* Besides, some of my friends call me the *Latent Flower Child* cause a my hair...
Anyhoo, take care of that hip, or is it proper to say them hips?

Reading here always means out loud laughter. Whoooaaa, you didn't go to the doc when you fell? Get thee going. If nothing else, you may get some wonderful meds out of it. Those park benches...oh my!

Happy Valentine's Day to you too! And get your hip looked at!
I wasn't at Woodstock - by then I was a young, somewhat respectable mother! See I'm even older than you girl.........and although my hips are aging, thankfully they still work.
Please go have your hip checked - and stay off the ice Colleen.
