Monday Mornin' Madness..

Well, not "madness" ..but "Monday Mornin' Blatherings" doesn't have the same elliteration allerterashun
sound to it..

Just a little of this and a little of that..and a lot of nothing in particular..

Talked to Sister Kathy of the Order of the SullivanSisters yesterday..

 .no not these...
 ..or these..

..ah..closer...

...she's always good for a laugh..no wait..that sounded mean..she always make me laugh at her..what I mean is she says the funniest things..

We got to talking about sugar v/s no sugar and she told me about when she was a Weight Watcher's leader, they did the whole "21 days to make/change a habit" and decided to give up sugar for the 21 days..

Kathy, like me. can let things go if she doesn't have a calendar, so she started marking her calendar with "NS" for the days she accomplished the task..

Hubby Bruce saw what she was marking on the calendar and asked ..

"Why are you putting that on the calendar?"

"So I can keep track.."

"Why are you keeping track of THAT?"

"So I can tell them at Weight Watchers.."

"WHY are you telling them THAT???"

 {this is not Bruce..}
" 'Cos we're all keeping track.."

"WHAT??"

"What are YOU talking about?"

"What are YOU ALL talking about??"

"Sugar.."

"Ooooh.. OK.."

Apparently he thought the NS meant "no s*x" and it must have coincided with his personal calendar....

 {this is not Kathy..or Bruce..just FYI..}

Found a Robin's egg when Emily was here..picked it up. It  had a small crack, and I didn't want it just smooshed on the sidewalk..so I brought it home.  Put it in a paper towel "nest" and put a glass dome over it.

 {this is not MY egg..just a random photo from Google..}

Then yesterday, I found a perfectly formed nest on my walk and brought that home, cleaned it (micorwave for 3 minutes) and now the little blue egg has a nest.  Still under the glass dome and yes, I know it won't hatch..but it's pretty..
 {ditto..from Google..spreading the Google-Love today..}

Sometimes I think my inner child is a little boy who comes home with rocks, sticks, shells, an old coin, a button.. anything that catches his/her eye in his/her pockets..doesn't even have to be shinny..{ an old screen door, a pink drawer from an old vanity..}

Mr. B, if he's looking out the window, says he can always tell I've found something by my grin as I walk up the drive..

But the saddest thing I found yesterday on the other end of the walk was a baby bird, dead, with little pin feathers and their eyes still closed..just laying on the sidewalk..wee little birdie..so sad..

I picked it up with the poo bag (clean) and said good-by and placed him in the refuge bin when I got home..poor baby.
 {this is not me..or the baby bird..}

I hate it when people just walk by things like that...step on them..let their animals pick them up..or dead animals on the road that are there for a LONG time {mostly hit-and-runs } ..just call someone to pick them up..it seems so disrespectful..so sad..

OK..I warned you..all over the place today.

Just remember, if we didn't have Mondays, we couldn't have those glorious Fridays, right??

So..just have a fun Monday..and be respectful of all living {and non-living} things today...

I understand about the little bird. Rick would go out in the road and retrieve dead squirrels because he didn't like seeing them run over and over and over. You have not visited my blog in forever. Are you mad at me? How could you be when I love you so much? Hope I didn't offend in one of my blatherings. Please come back.

You are such a dear heart...taking care of the neighborhood and all the critters.

I think you'll be hearing from both sisters soon when they see what you think is "closer."

What a funny story from your bil. I can see why he was concerned. Hahahahaha...

Oh, good idea for disinfecting the nest. I have always sprayed them and put them in a plastic bag for a week or so. Your way is mucho better. Hope I can remember it.

Oh, I LOL at the NS thingy :)
And the dead little bird...the bigger and healthier ones pushed him out cause they had to make room to grow. Learned that years ago and have see it also.
Ain't I so smart??? (hehehe) I see your snickering:)

Oh how I laughed about the NS. It is so sad about baby bird and I thank you for doing what you did. I wish more people would.

Ha-Ha! NS -- pretty funny! Sometimes I think my husband does keep a calendar :/ I know how you feel about the little creatures of the world. When I was little, I thought my job would be to drive around in a truck with a shovel and whenever I found a dead animal, I would just get out and right there on the side of the road, start digging a hole to bury it in. I was so sad seeing all the roadkill -- no matter what kind of animal it was. People in this country walk by so many things. I just can't do it. I sent you an email months ago with a recipe - I think for black bean & squash chili -- did you ever get it? Have a great rest of the week. Tammy

I was driving home Saturday from work and saw a large brown something laying in the highway in front of my house and thought, 'oh no a deer'...but as I drove closer could see it was a large pile of poo that had fallen off a farm truck and skidded a big brown tobacco stain on the highway...IT'S STILL THERE...yup the excitement never quits in IOWA!!!

Love Miss Ella the lip-sync queen...too cute, especially the finale...ha!

Poor little bird. Your finding the egg reminds me of the book, The Littlest Angel, have you read it?
And I'll email Gail and see what she's up to ;)

That was a sweet, funny, sad post.

I love the all-over-the-placeness of it.

I could have done without the bathtub scene....it sorta looked like my parents.

You have a wonderful day. Be sure and clean out your pockets before you do laundry.

I won't stay away so long..it got pitch dark while I was reading and I had to flip on a light to leave this comment. Off to bed now!
