Who needs diamonds when we have....fabric!

So yesterday morning, before it got too hot, Emmy and I went outside and created....jewelry!

She made a Shabby-Chic {with the emphasis on chic} fabric flower then turned in into a beautiful necklace..

..and she learned to make a fabric yo yo and turned in into a bracelet.

Out of all the fabric she had to choose from, and there was a TON....she chose to use some of her  Uncle Larry's shirt that he used to wear to support the breast cancer awareness..

I think that was sweet..and I'm sure Uncle Larry would have approved :-)

Then it was off to the Dollar movie {Marmaduke...sooooo funny!!} and then to the Dollar store then to the thrift store where we found soooo many cute outfits for her.

Home to wait for Grandpa to come home from work then out for tacos before Zumba...

Zumba was great..new songs and we even did a new dance to Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean"..

All in all it was another fab-U-lous day....

Cya2morrow!!

Colleen,
Love the way your have your calendar of the day written on the plate. Your days are filled with activities and I am sure Emmy will have treasured memories that will last her lifetime.
I am taking notes so I can do things like this for my grandson when he's old enough...he's due the September.
Keep having fun!

What a great day you had. Emmy is quite talented with a needle and thread and how wonderful that she used part of your brother's shirt. You must be so proud of her.

A very full day. Emma is taking after Grammy in the craft dept. You must be losing more weight with your go go go days. Zumba too. I'm trying to pluck up the courage to go.

Looks like ya'll are having a great time together. The jewelry turned out so beautifully and extra special because of the history behind the shirt. McPicnics and seeing how things were done in the day of old. Fun! Have a great weekend. We are in OH at the moment to visit my mom. Best wishes, Tammy

You had me laughing the minute I saw your banner with the "honor student" bumpersticker! LOL!
What a GREAT idea writing on a plate! I have a teenager that needs constant reminding of her chores, and since I'm a china painter, there will never be a shortage of plates to write on!
I would love to have you visit some time if you have time,
