..it aLWaYs starts out with an innocent little thought..

"..what do you think of some can lights in the kitchen??"

{this is not our kitchen..}

Simple.  Just remove the big old light box in the ceiling....no biggie..right?

Uh-huh.  and....that would be a "no"..

{this is our kitchen..}

Oh..and this is our kitchen...

..and this...

..and this and this and this...

 Oh..and let's not forget this...

So, we'll be in construction mode for a week or so..or until Mr. B can rest at night without designing-in-his- mind..

Have a restful Sunday..and the next time you think of a teensy-easy-quick project...

Think again!

"I don't know what to tell you pups..Daddy's too busy/tired/dusty to walk you tonight..you'll have to take Mommy instead, OK??"

Have a happy Sunday..and give your lighting a hug..

Well I hope you can give a bit of light on the matter tomorrow. Looks like it might be eating out time or call for take away.

Since this is exactly what John has been working on last week...mercifully, NOT at our house, I'm going to haul him in here later today and see what he might have to say about this. I'd like to say that you are very smart to cover everything so nicely with plastic. I'm sure that is helping. All the best!

LOVE the picture of Hubby standing with his arms crossed staring at the ceiling. Some serious planning going on there!

I have a saying for projects like this: "I only intended to drain the swamp, but now I'm up to my a$$ in aligators". Good luck !!

I absolutely cannot allow my hubby to see these photos!! I desperately want to replace the flourescent light box thingie in our kitchen, but he keeps saying, that there's "no way to know what we'll find under there." This may just prove his point and I'll never get a better light fixture!! Good luck!

Oh my, no way! That does not look like fun at all but I bet it will be awesome when it's done.

Oh, boy do I feel bad for Mr. B. Those little projects can be the kiss of death. I had that same light box once. The hole didn't grow to be quite that big though. You should lobby for the first kitchen since you're halfway there already :)

Hope it's coming along well by now....yes those so-called mini DIY projects always seem to expand into monster renovations! Good luck dear - know it will be worth the mess in the long run!

Happy Spring to you and yours, including that sweet tiny Mia - how wonderful she has a real loving home now.

Hugs - Mary

I know I'm a little behind with this story, but it does look pretty intense! At least he knows how to fix things :)

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

 I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
