Have you ever....

..had a day where you feel pretty good..happy..all sorts of healthy..

..and loving the fall-like weather..cool..crisp..

..and loving an early-out day because you have a "look-see" appointment with your hubby's chiropractor?

See Exhibit 1:

You go in..meet the young {like about 13 years old...}chiropractor..and she takes X-rays..
See Exhibit: 1-a

...and then you find out...

one shoulder is lower than the other one..

"Wha??"

See exhibit 2:

"OK..well that's not too bad..right?" says me..all curious and trusting..

"well..." says she..{insert nervous chuckle}."there's also.....that 'curve' in your spine..see this? It's pretty common as one .... um....ages.."

See Exhibit 3:

"EEK" I say...

"And then there's this..." says she.."uneven shoulder, crooked spine......and one hip is lower than the other.."

See Exhibit 4:

.."and...because of your uneven hip...one leg 'appears' to be longer.."

"Seriously...seriously? Well, isn't  that just ..awesome.."

See exhibit 5:

"Geesh..now I don't feel so good...all crooked and all."

And..there's this nursery rhyme that keeps running through my head...

" There was a Crooked Man  Woman"

There was a crooked man woman and She walked a crooked mile,

SHe found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.{what the heck is a "stile" ?}

SHe bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.

And they all lived together in a little crooked house

Getting old{er} is certainly not for wimps, huh?

*note to self: check the foundation on the house...

For years I had to shorten just one leg of any slacks I bought, because one leg was longer than the other. Then I went to a chiropractor who after several visits and adjustments, got the short leg to be as long as the other. Then I had to RE-ALTER about 10 pairs of slacks!!! :)

I love you for making me smile on a regular basis!
I got up early and decided I could just as well start painting a bit on a sketch I did last night, and the minute I sat down I got a pain in my middle back.......a nerve getting pinched. I guess I'm crooked as all get out myself! haha
Have a great crooked day!!

Don't worry you are not on your own, it is happening to al of us. You didn't mention that when one shoulder is lower that makes one boob lower.
A style is the thingy like a step to climb over a wall/fence. (seen in England)

how bizarre that just yesterday I went and got an extra for my as-yet unfigured-out illness, and the x-ray tech said, "oh and by the way, did you know you have scoliosis?" She showed me the x-ray and sure enough, crooked as anything.

-chuckle- I just knew, with a beginning like that, this post had to be going downhill, from there.

Right! Growing old[er] isn't for sissies.

But for now, the alternative is unthinkable.

For now...

Awwww Colleen you are in good company! Yep, I too have one low shoulder, off hip, longer leg and bent spine. My two best friends are also afflicted. I think it is epidemic! (Fashion designers take note!)

Hugs,

Sue

I like Sue's comment above! Can you imagine a special clothing store for people with crooked bodies!? You'd need special hangers to hang the clothes right!
Anyway, yes you're in good company. Maybe start a support group for lopsided people?

Oh dear...why am I laughing over this terrible assessment? Are you sure you were standing up straight? Is she gonna yank you back into place? If she does, I want to know about it! Your sketches are priceless!

ROFLOL - your sketches are awesome! And I think that as you don't walk with a limp and don't have to slurp your soup from a bowl on the floor (that would be a baaaaaaad case of scoliosis), your case is not hopeless! Hugs- Lola ;0)

Sorry about that. What are the suggestions, where do you go from here?

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
