The beauty of the Amish country is...

simply awe-inspiring....

The quietness..

The quaintness..

It's like nothing I've ever seen..

..and I found this in a Amish book...

If you admire our faith, strengthen yours.

If you admire our sense of commitment, deepen yours
.
If you admire our community spirit, build one.

If you admire the simple life, cut back.

If you admire quality merchandise or land stewardship, then make quality.

If you admire deep character and enduring values, live them.

Pretty simple, huh?

Have a simply wonderful Friday..and more fun vacation photos to come..

Lovely...

But I can't help but wondering...

Would we get restless, so to speak?

Just a thought, a question.

Love Amish country and all of the lush green fields and beautiful colors. Did you get some Shoo-fly pie? Thank you for sharing that saying...it pretty much says it all.

You got that right! I just love Lancaster County and I would move there in a moment had I enough money to do that. I've thought seriously about converting to Amish. There just MUST be a nice single Amish man out there someplace.

Oh wait. I don't cook. No..that won't work.

I think we all could live a simpler lifestyle and learn great lessons along the way. I love your vacation posts -- especially the dancing and the food shots. Looks like you all had a fun time. Have a great weekend, Tammy

So true. I would love to try living like they do. I know it's a lot of work but it must also be peaceful in so many ways.

Not to rain on everyone's parade...but we made our first visit to Amish country last spring, and I was quite surprised at the commercialization of it. We laughed at the Amish buggies pulling up to the ATM machine.

Loved this. The Amish fascinate me like no other. Those farms. So beautiful.

Wanna see what I've been up to ??

I always wanted a dollhouse. My dad was a carpenter and was asked by one of his wealthy customers to make a dollhouse for their daughter. I...
