Well, it's almost garage sale time...

..but not quite.

So, rather than continue having "garage sales withdrawls" I went thrifting.

Spent $10 even. EVEN - that's pretty good!

Here's what I got for my $10....even..

This darling very well kept and working suitcase was $2.00 !It doesn't have any musty order or anything - like it's never been used :-)

Cute and useful buttons and a ceramic bird...

OK, so I even stumped Mr. B with these - he asked if I had people working for me that needed time cards..No silly! They're for art projects..I can see cute cards..maybe a length-wise scrapbook...Hmmm...

Here's a darling ceramic basket with the cutest little Salt & Pepper shakers..just in time for Easter. Maybe I'll have a cute centerpiece after all!

The old Thermos is to go with the old lunch box - I found this idea to decoupage them as a set (really cute) and use the Thermos as a vase, the cup as a pencil holder and the lunch box as the stationary holder...remind me to show you when I'm finished..

I don't know if you remember the Country Living issue that had the Country ABC's..(October 2003) but I ran across the pages I had saved when I was giving Rachael some old magazines she needed for a project.

I always knew I wanted to do something with them, but frankly, I forgot all about having them.

Then today, seeing them again, I had the same instinct to do "something" with them..but still wasn't sure what that was.

The pages were kind of flimsy, just being magazine pages. But the images were too special to just toss..

That's when I thought they could be a quilt-like collage...so I scanned them and viola!

Well, so much for a bEauTIfuL sunny day from Main Street, USA..

Boy are you thrifty, $10 bucks? I do need to move over by you and we could have a blast shopping! Your husband and my husband could play a game called "what the heck are they going to use that for" They both sound alike sista friend. Nice to have a new friend Colleen (you crack me up)and it's good to know you will continue to for a long while. See ya tomorrow!

You are so much better than I am at thrift stores. I don't have the 'eye' to see what I can do with things. I go in and just see junk. And junk is not what I want. But then I do not go often. Now estate sales...that's another subject.

Great thriftin'! The collage is a cool idea and I'm anxious to see the lunchbox and what you do with the time cards. Congrats on the weight loss! You are really inspiring! How nice to share some tea with the ladies. Sounds like a much better situation to me. Let me know if Mr. B makes that window box for you, Jean

What a haul! I love to see the stuff people find while thrifting or garaging. Lucky people to have all that to look forward to in the summer. Go girl!

Wanna see what I've been up to ??
